LET'S ORDER PIZZA!
The winter sky is grey, it's cold outside, and post-holiday blues calls for staying home and curling up with a partner, a good book, a furry pet, or all the above. Staying home can be a good thing as we catch up on our Netflix, new TV series, and just relaxing as we catch up with ourselves. We cooked ourselves into a frenzy over the holidays and now is the time to order in. It's the perfect time to order a pizza. Did you know that every day Americans eat 100 acres of pizza and 350 slices are sold every second? Three billion pizzas are sold in the US each year. The average American eats 46 slices every year. I certainly do my part. So, what is America's favorite pizza topping? For years cheese pizza lingered at the top of the list but pepperoni has taken the lead as the favorite pizza topping. But what follows has changed over time. In and article in Fox News , according to a Harris Poll taken in January 2,193 adults surveyed online voted the following: Favorite Pizza Toppings: Pepperoni Sausage Mushroom Cheese/Plain Onions Bacon Ham/Canadian bacon Pineapple Peppers/Sweet peppers Least Favorite Pizza Toppings: Anchovies Mushrooms Pineapple Onions Olives Pepperoni Peppers/Sweet peppers Sausage Meat (general mentions) Cheese/plain As far as WHO has the best pizza, it looks like New York is the best state to get a pizza with Illinois coming in a close second. Now about the crust. It looks like there is a close margin between regular crust, (18%) deep dish (15%), and stuffed crust (14%). Millennials overwhelmingly prefer the thinner crust. Of course they do. That being said, with only 2% of the population saying they don't like pizza (what is wrong with you?!) it's time to settle in, get your men's pizza socks or women's pizza socks on and order your favorite pizza with all of your favorite toppings!
