Kate Spade NY and Lucky Brand team up for Plaza Fashion Show The Kansas City Country Club Plaza is one of the city's biggest attractions. An outdoor shopping center modeled off the streets of Granada, Spain, The Plaza offers an impressive selection of high-end designer shops. Strolling through The Plaza streets, you'll find beautiful sculptures, fountains and storefronts. This truly is the City of Fountains. Only Paris has more fountains than Kansas City! The show began at 1 p.m. The crowd waited anxiously glancing nervously at the overcast sky in hopes that the weather would hold out it. It did, and Tim Gunn, Lucky Brand and Kate Spade NY delivered a fabulous show. What many of you may not know is that Kate Spade is a Kansas City native. She was able to grow her brand and expand into national and international markets due in large part to the support of the local Kansas City fashion community. Thank you for always remembering us, Kate! The collections were shown separately and together, with some mixing and matching of Kate Spade and Lucky Brand pieces. As each modeled strutted his or her stuff down the runway, Tim Gunn commented on their outfits, making remarks about the styling motivation behind the look and slight tweaks that could be made to the outfit to prolong its versatility. After the show, Tim Gunn opened up a Q&A session, offering styling tips, do's and don'ts for spring trends and little tidbits from his latest book on the history of fashion trend--now available for pre-sale!
